Follow the shoes to Shelburne Falls Arts Walk this weekend
4 to 8 p.m. Saturday
SHELBURNE FALLS — On Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. decorative shoes on the streets will lead you on an Art Walk in Shelburne Falls. Stroll across the Bridge of Flowers and through dozens of shops, galleries and restaurants for an evening of new exhibits, receptions with artists, studio demonstrations, interactive art and delicious treats.
Or ride a historic trolley under the stars, at the Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum.
The Art Walk is free to the public, and there will be plenty to do and see.
Activities include live music at Mocha Maya’s and fiber artists’ exhibits at the Shelburne Arts Cooperative. Be sure to experience yoga relaxation to the gong or experience an hour of Balkan dancing where you can enjoy the beautiful live music played on exotic instruments and join in the dancing made accessible to all by Becky Ashenden at the Shelburne Falls Yoga Studio. You can browse through books at the Shelburne Falls Booksellers or stop in to Boswell’s Books.
The Salmon Falls Artisan Showroom will have live artist demonstrations, then a party for all the hundred or so local artists in the area.
Ursa Major Gallery will be offering the art of papermaking, while Molly Cantor will be showcasing her teapots, trays and jars and will also be having Celtic music and refreshments.
For photography, stop by JH Sherburne Fine Art Gallery for a display of photographic floral portraits or The Bakers Oven for their collection of photos by Doug Potoksky.
Stop in to get a taste of several local artists at A Heart For Art. Stop in and get a bite to eat at McCusker’s while enjoying their display of Edward Tamm’s and Meetinghouse Artists’ paintings.
Shelburne Falls was itself named “one of the prettiest small towns in New England” and is full of artisan shops, galleries, restaurants and attractions such as the Bridge of Flowers and the Glacial Potholes of the Deerfield River.
