Hawley voters face Wednesday deadline

HAWLEY — If you want to vote in this year’s annual town election and state primary, Wednesday is the last day to register to vote. Pamela Shrimpton, the new town clerk, will hold special office hours at the town office that day, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 8 p.m.

On the ballot are the following candidates. All are for three-year terms unless otherwise noted: Selectman, incumbent Philip Keenan; Assessor, incumbent Jason Velazquez; Tree Warden (one-year term), Richard Gould (candidate for re-election); and the Hawlemont Local Education Council, incumbent Suzanne Crawford.

Offices on the ballot without candidates include:

Auditor (a one-year term); Town Moderator (one-year term), a three-year Hawlemont Regional School Committee seat and a three-year Mohawk Trail Regional School Committee position.

The state primary and annual town election will be held in the town office on April 30 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Buckland election deadline Wednesday

BUCKLAND — A final voter registration session for those who want to participate in the annual town election/state primary will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m.

Town Clerk Janice Purington says this is the deadline to register or to change party affiliation for those elections on April 30.
