Heath ‘Clean Sweep’ day set for Aug. 9

HEATH — The Heath Board of Health is planning to hold a “Clean Sweep” bulky waste collection on Saturday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The drop-off site is the Heath Transfer Station.

All Heath property owners may bring a wide range of items that are typically difficult to get rid of, such as tires, small and large appliances, scrap metal, furniture, mattresses, carpeting, construction debris, computers, televisions, propane gas tanks and other large items. (No hazardous waste.) Businesses may participate. Property owners do not need to register for the collection. However, there are charges for disposal. Disposal fees, cash or check only, will be collected from property owners during check-in at each site. A complete list of prices for the most common items is available at the town hall, town transfer station and online at:

For more information, or if you need assistance with clean-up, call the Heath Board of Health: 413-337-4934 ext. 8, or email: boh@townofheath.org.
