Grant info hearing set for tonight

HAWLEY — A public hearing takes place during tonight’s selectmen’s meeting, to discuss the town’s needs for a state Community Development Block Grant. The hearing will take place at 8 p.m. in the Town Office.

All eligible projects must benefit low/moderate-income residents, or be used to eliminate blight. Grant purposes may include: rehabilitation of substandard housing, economic development, improvement of public facilities and town infrastructure, social services and/or planning projects. Town officials hope residents will suggest activities that would be appropriate for block grant funding.
