Diesel, milk spilled in Hawley truck rollover
HAWLEY — Nobody was hurt in a recent truck rollover, but gallons of milk and diesel fuel spilled into the woods.
State police were called to the accident at 10:47 a.m. Tuesday, and arrived to find the milk truck resting on its side in the woods in the area of 153 East Hawley Road.
The trailer of the truck had to be drained of its contents before being moved, according to trooper Thomas Murphy.
That took hours; police did not clear the scene of the crash until 2:40 p.m., said Murphy.
The driver, Jose Delgado, 43, of Springfield, was not injured in the crash, said Murphy. Delgado was driving for Harris Milk Transportation, of Belchertown.
The accident remains under investigation by the state police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section. Murphy said no charges or citations had been issued against the driver as of Wednesday night.
