Letter: Our own ‘living statue’

Anyone that has traveled Europe, especially Spain, has seen “living statutes” and, so we applaud the recent story about Robbie Vorhaus’ live portrayal of Emily Dickinson. Perhaps, one of the most world-renown places to see such performance art is “Las Rambla,” the main street outside the old quarter in Barcelona (trying Googling for videos).

They are even more amazing in person, when our granddaughter was 2, she was so puzzled by seeing them, and jumped with glee when one handed her a flower — SO we hope “Emily” will return in the spring and others might join her. Perhaps this will provide another outlet for the dramatic talents and joy all too hidden in the people around us.
