Live Franklin County results of U.S. Senate election

Democrat Ed Markey took 67 percent of the vote in Franklin County, with 23 towns reporting. See town-by-town results: http://bit.ly/10h4gw6.

Massachusetts residents chose Markey over Republican Gabriel Gomez to fill the U.S. Senate seat once occupied by Secretary of State John Kerry.

In Greenfield, residents selected elementary teacher Margaret Betts and retiring principal Donna Gleason for two three-year school board seats.

Writer and publicist Wesley Blixt was on the ballot but lost to Gleason, a write-in candidate.

Another write-in candidate emerged in the race for a Greenfield At-large Town Councilor: James Allen, who was ousted from the Planning Board last week. But Patrick Devlin, the lone ballot candidate for the seat, won easily.

In Montague, Michael Nelson defeated Jeanne Golrick for a one-year selectman seat.
