River search continues for French King Bridge jumper
The search for the man who witnesses said jumped from the French King Bridge on Monday continues.
The river flow was too strong for divers the day of the incident. Northwestern District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Mary Carey said the search was unsuccessful Tuesday.
“Yesterday they searched and they said they didn’t recover anybody or any body,” Carey said. Carey said she hadn’t heard anything further Wednesday.
The office has not identified the man.
The DA’s office has asked boaters on the Connecticut River south of the bridge to report any suspicious observations to the State Police or call 911. The State Police barracks in Shelburne can be reached at 413-625-6311, Northampton at 413-584-3000.
