Deerfield Notebook

OLD DEERFIELD — Deerfield Academy has begun improvements on part of Albany Road and to the sidewalk on the west side of Main Street.

According to a letter to the town by Milton H. Williams Jr., the academy’s director of facilities, the work on Albany Road includes replacing existing storm drainage and a water line from the West Gym driveway to Barton dormitory.

When the work is complete, the school will repave the road in the same area.

Sidewalk repairs will run from the school’s physical plant to the post office on Main Street.

The work will be completed in the summer.

The selectmen and highway superintendent signed off on the project.
