Letter: Reducing waste
Thanks to The Recorder and Ms. Hazard for tasking each of us to be bigger than our elected representatives and act to combat global warming.
As most nights I can see, though my kitchen window, Greenfield’s sky glow, I suggest reducing the wasted light shone into space, representing a waste of energy, a detriment to animal life (including human life), and an obstacle to the viewing the miracle, which is the Milky Way.
Another thought is to suggest combining an elimination of the corporate income tax (especially prized among the right) with a carbon tax, and increase in the earned income tax credit (to offset the regressive nature of the carbon tax) and increased enforcement of anti-competitive and monopoly violations (to leverage the power of the entrepreneur by keeping the jackbooted multinationals away).
