Drivers in Deerfield accident in ‘good’ condition

DEERFIELD — The two drivers injured in a Thursday afternoon crash are in good medical condition, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Tophie Nowak, 70, of Enfield, Conn., was treated at Baystate Franklin Medical Center and released, said spokeswoman Amy Swisher. Jean McIntyre, 60, of Greenfield, was transferred to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield and her condition is good, she said.

The accident occurred on Routes 5 and 10 after Nowak, driving in the southbound lane, attempted to turn left onto Elm Street, crossing into the path of McIntyre’s northbound car.
