Tech School students earn free college tuition

TURNERS FALLS — High scores on the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System tests this year earned 21 Franklin County Technical School students free tuition to any state college or university.

The John and Abigail Adams Scholarship provides a four-year tuition waiver to students scoring at the advanced level on either the English or math portions of the MCAS and at least proficient on the other, and with scores putting them in the top 25 percent of their school district.


Class of 2014 scholarship recipients are:

Alissa Ames of Montague; Samantha Ames of Greenfield; Anthony Chaisson of New Salem; Lauren Hanson of Leverett; Tyler Harwood of Greenfield; Julia Lingwall of Sunderland; Dylan McKay of Erving; Joseph Menko of Whately; Alexander Milton of Northfield; Maxwell Pellerin of Montague; Tyler Peters of Montague; Jonathan Rawls of Montague; Julien Rodriguez of Ashfield; Dean Russin of Greenfield; Kyle Shippee of Rowe; Gabriel Stafford of Greenfield; Zachary Swenson of Sunderland; Dakota Whitmore of Orange; Kurtis Williams of Leverett; Shelbi Williams of Gill; Judith Wyman of Montague.
