“Welcome to Charlemont” sign contest announced

CHARLEMONT — The selectmen are seeking design submissions for a new “Welcome to Charlemont” signs.

The 4-by-4-foot signs will be installed at the east and west ends of the Charlemont Village Center in time for this year’s foliage season.

Anyone who would like to participate in this contest should send a full-color design entry on paper to the selectmen. These paper submissions do not need to be full size, but they do need to be drawn to scale and large enough for all details and text to be easily viewed.

Design submissions may be delivered in person to the selectmen’s office in Town Hall at 157 Main St., or mailed to P.O. Box 677, Charlemont, MA 01339. All submissions are due by July 18 at 4 p.m.

The selectmen will seek public input on the submissions this summer and choose a design in August. The winning designer will submit an electronic copy of his or her design at that time. The signs will be produced and installed in September.
