Buckland solar farm bylaw hearing on Oct. 10
BUCKLAND — A public hearing on a proposed bylaw for large-scale, ground-mounted solar farms will be held next Thursday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall.
Copies of the bylaw are available in the town clerk’s office. Under this proposal, an electricity-generating solar system occupying more than 1,000 square feet would require a special permit and a site-plan review. Solar panel systems covering more than five acres will not be allowed anywhere in town.
Systems that take up fewer than 1,000 square feet, for homes, farms or businesses, will not require special permits. However, they may be subject to a site plan review.
The day of the hearing was incorrect in a Wednesday story.
