SHELBURNE FALLS — Two days after a Shelburne Music Fest raised $900 to help with the restoration of the Arms Library’s Pratt Memorial Building, project manager George Dole of Margo Jones Architects and structural engineer John Wathne of Structures North got a lift to the top of the Arms Library roof, courtesy of a Shelburne firetruck. Their inspection of the roof will help the Pratt Memorial Library Building Committee get a better idea of the condition of the leaky roof and of the scope of the work to be done. The Arms Library, which is housed within the Pratt building, is trying to raise $400,000 to $600,000 to replace the roof and make other repairs to the historic building.
