Mohawk music fundraiser Friday night
BUCKLAND — Come hear the band Trailer Park and rock out to Mohawk Trail Regional School’s new rock band on Friday night, at a benefit concert and dance for the Mohawk Music Association. The music and dancing begins at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium.
Trailer Park, featuring Mohawk alum Tom Mahnken, has been playing throughout New England since 1994, according to Julian Diamond, a Mohawk student and this year’s concert organizer. Trailer Park has played 700 shows and has opened for such well-known acts as NRBQ, Rate Dog, WAR, Little Feat and Los Lobos, according to Diamond. They have also played behind blues-rocker Bo Diddley.
Mohawk’s new rock band, led by Music Director Scott Halligan, will also perform.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children and free to Mohawk students. All ages are welcome.
The proceeds will benefit the Mohawk Music Association, which raises money for scholarships, to purchase instruments for school bands, and supports the all-school musical and other productions.
