Civil War re-enactor to visit Bernardston antiques shop
Michael Aldrich will share history Saturday 10 to 5:30
BERNARDSTON — Civil War General Augustus James Pleasonton will visit a local antiques shop Saturday, where he will regale visitors with tales of the war between brothers.
From 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Michael Aldrich, of Greenfield, will don his Pennsylvania Militia uniform, and step into the shoes of Brigadier General Pleasonton at Whitney Hill Antiques and Consignment, 146 South St.
“I’ll be here to talk to people about the Civil War, and answer their questions,” he said. “I’m a historian as well as a re-enactor.”
Aldrich will also have Civil War memorabilia to display, and reproduction Civil War parade ribbons for sale.
The shop will also hold a public flea market from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Monday, weather permitting. If Saturday’s flea market is rained out, Aldrich will move his show inside.
