Bernardston Old Home Day Saturday
BERNARDSTON — Summer is winding down, and that can only mean one thing: Old Home Day is coming.
The annual get-together goes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in Cushman Park, and it offers something for every age group.
The kids can enjoy balloon sculpting, a sawdust coin hunt and a bounce house. They’ll also get to meet police officers and firefighters and check out a fire engine, as well as a chance to make tie-dyed T-shirts for $10 apiece.
There will be music all day. Hometown favorite the Falltown String Band kicks things off at 10:30 a.m., folk duo Yankee Notions takes over at noon, yielding the stage to A Natural Concert Band at 2 p.m.
Those experienced at counting cards may try their hands in a cribbage tournament.
It’s not a party without food and the Bernardston Kiwanis will start serving burgers, hot dogs and fries at 11 a.m., leading up to their noon chicken barbecue. At 1 p.m., everyone will be treated to an ice cream social.
