GREENFIELD — Parents, children and community members can now read, sing and play at Hillside Park.

The first Born Learning Trail was installed at the Greenfield park on June 21, offering parents, caregivers and preschool children an interactive, playful tool to encourage early learning skills.

The trail was part of the United Way of Franklin County’s day of action and advances its mission to support early childhood education.

The trail is made up of 10 different signs surrounding the playground area. Each sign has a different activity for parents and children to do. It is designed to boost school readiness for children.

The Home Depot in Greenfield was a big contributor to the project. Supervisor Jennifer Senn guided United Way in selecting the right products, overseeing the project and installing the signs as part of a community service project for her work.
