Orange, Oct. 7
11:48 a.m. — Caller from North Main Street wants her 17-year-old son to go to school, or to move out; officer spoke with the son, and he chose to go to school.
Sunderland, Oct. 7
5:20 p.m. — Report of a tree down across the roadway on wires.
7 p.m. — Officer on Route 63 for report of a tree down across the road on wires.
Montague, Oct. 8
1:22 p.m. — Caller from Keith Street says her 1996 Saab was vandalized; officer investigating.
2:40 p.m. — Domestic disturbance on Avenue A and Third Street at the bus stop; multiple calls received; all those involved advised; peace was restored.
2:55 p.m. — Accident reported on Industrial Boulevard near Hallmark School; two vehicles, one of which was found to be showing an expired registration out of Connecticut.
5:30 p.m. — Fatal accident at the Route 47 crossover with a car into a tree.
7:22 p.m. — Walk-in says her 15-year-old son was involved in a physical altercation last week behind Cumberland Farms with an 18-year-old, but the reporting person just learned of it and would like to speak with an officer regarding options; officer met with them, and they were advised.
8:48 p.m. — Caller from Turners Falls Road reports one of her sheep got out and is loose.
Orange, Oct. 8
10:50 a.m. — Control advises of a two-car crash on East Main Street; on officer’s arrival it was found to be in the parking lot; an operator was given a written warning.
2:29 p.m. — Caller requesting an officer regarding her back window being broken; the vehicle was parked behind a business on East River Street for about 10 minutes.
8:59 p.m. — Officer on patrol located an aircraft with its door open; airport manager contacted and he requested we secure the door and he will notify the owner in the morning.
9:45 p.m. — Several reports of people with flashlights in the Brookside Road area; unable to locate anyone.
Sunderland, Oct. 9
6:20 p.m. — Report of a disturbance between two males in front of the library; officer found it to be one person from School Street and one from Leverett Road having a disagreement; peace was restored.
Orange, Oct. 9
1:30 p.m. — Shelburne Control reports the ambulance is responding for a female who fell in the bath tub; officer also responded to assist, and the female was transported to Athol Memorial Hospital by the Orange Ambulance.
6:30 p.m. — Caller from Mechanic Street reports a man slapped her in the face earlier today; the reporting person wasn’t injured, but she wanted the incident on record in case she has further issues.
8:40 p.m. — General disturbance on East Main Street where the ambulance crew came across a male and female disturbance, and they stopped to try and assist the female; the male walked away; the area was checked, but he couldn’t be found; officer spoke with the female who stated it was verbal only, and she just wanted to go home; she was escorted to her car so she could safely leave with her child.
Montague, Oct. 9
9:54 a.m. — Breaking and entering reported on Bridge Street where the caller says someone attempted to break in last night; the reporting person found the screen by her computer has been pushed in; no access gained.
2:20 p.m. — Property damage reported on Millers Falls Road where the caller was reporting damage to his wife’s new vehicle.
4:53 p.m. — Caller from Fourth Street requesting an officer to view damage and possible drug paraphernalia left behind in what was supposed to be an empty apartment; officer found no crime had been committed, but the apartment was checked for safety reason.
5:26 p.m. — Fraud reported from Avenue A where the caller says he got a call from a male with a heavy accent that stated he was from “Windows” and there was an issue with the reporting person’s computer that needed immediate attention; the reporting person disconnected the line and didn’t provide any personal information.
8:14 p.m. — Arrested Laura J. Lacey, 40, of West Street, Montague Center, on a default warrant.
Greenfield, Oct. 10
1:21 a.m. — Arrested Michelle E. Belleau, 47, of Crescent Street, on a warrant.
7:01 a.m. — Caller from Colrain Street reports a vehicle there was broken into and change was stolen; the vehicle was unlocked.
7:07 a.m. — Caller from Elm Street reports youths waiting at a bus stop were throwing items at another bus as it passed there.
7:36 a.m. — Second call from Colrain Street; vehicle entered with items taken.
8:45 a.m. — Breaking and entering into a motor vehicle reported on West Street where stereo equipment was stolen; officer to investigate.
12:14 p.m. — Report from Fort Square West of a vehicle that was entered overnight; officer to investigate.
12:17 p.m. — Caller from Solon Street reports a male came to her house and made threats; officer spoke with the person who said it was a verbal argument.
12:46 a.m. — Caller from Lilac Court reports harassment by a neighbor; she also indicated she has already informed management of the problem; she was advised of options.
1:32 p.m. — Postal carrier reports witnessing a motor vehicle strike a parked vehicle on Cleveland Street, breaking the parked vehicle’s mirror; the passing motor vehicle didn’t stop after striking the parked vehicle; officer took the information, and will attempt to make contact with the registered owner.
4:03 p.m. — Caller from Fiske Avenue reports he was visiting a friend there, and someone stole money out of his wallet.
5:40 p.m. — Suspicious activity reported on Bayberry Court where the caller says he was dropping off a fare when his window exploded; he didn’t hear a gunshot or see anything in the back of the vehicle; no injuries reported; officer to investigate.
7:01 p.m. — General domestic disturbance reported on Solon Street.
11:35 p.m. — Arrest of Steven W. Shannon, 50, of Beech Street, charged with assault and battery on a police officer. Followed a silent 911 call, and on call back, dispatch spoke with a male who said he was in an argument with his wife, and made the call to stop the argument; she is now upstairs, and he is waiting on the porch; officers there, and now requesting BHA for an unresponsive, but breathing, female; fire department en route.
Montague, Oct. 10
3:32 a.m. — Caller from I Street reports the smell of fire, and that heating went out and possibly burn marks around the electrical outlet; all at the same time; officer advises that the problem was found to be a space heater malfunction; resident was advised by the fire department.
12:20 p.m. — Hit-and-run by the bridge on Canal Road where there is damage to the traffic light control box from a tractor-trailer that had difficulty maneuvering out of Southworth.
4:30 p.m. — Accident reported on Avenue A and Third Street; minor damage, officer assisted with information exchange.
4:54 p.m. — Domestic disturbance reported on Bridge Street where the reporting person says a 15-year-old is out of control, throwing items and punching walls, and has mom concerned; officers were able to calm the youth, and mom has administered his medications; peace was restored.
5:46 p.m. — Caller from Woodland Drive who says the landlord reported to him that it appeared someone shot at his apartment’s bedroom window with something, possibly a BB gun; the outside window was broken, but the inside window is still intact.
Greenfield, Oct. 11
1:02 a.m. — Fight reported on Fiske Avenue, and on arrival of officers, they found a large crowd gathered around a known male lying on the ground; officer spoke with several people and it was discovered that a known person punched the other male twice, in the face; medical treatment for the man on the ground was refused, and the victim was advised and given a witness statement form to complete and return to the station.
1:56 a.m. — Caller reports a male was sleeping in the hallway of a building on Main Street; officer moved the person along.
2:07 a.m. — Caller from the Winslow Apartments on Wells Street reports items were taken from his apartment by a friend; officer spoke with the woman and another male and she gave one item back.
Montague, Oct. 11
8:11 a.m. — Arrested Demetrius Del-Ray White, 28, of Fifth Street, Turners Falls, on a probation warrant.
