Cable guys fall in Conn. river during job

SUNDERLAND —Two cable workers were wet, but otherwise unhurt Wednesday, after their boat capsized in the Connecticut River, between Deerfield and Sunderland.

Sunderland received the report at about
11:30 a.m. One of the workers made it to the Deerfield river bank while the other remained with the boat. Deerfield and Sunderland police responded. The Sunderland Fire Department was able to retrieve the boat and the worker.

It was reported that the workers were from White Mountain Cable and Construction and were placing fiber optic cable when the boat capsized, due to the strong current.
