Sunderland, Jan. 7

10 a.m. — Resident from Sugarloaf Estates in to drop off a letter written to Sugarloaf Estates Management regarding a man’s threats of physical violence toward police and any other resident he chooses to hurt; possible charges pending.

3:30 p.m. — Accident reported where a southbound vehicle on Route 116 near Subway was sideswiped by another vehicle; the second vehicle operator was issued a citation for marked lane violation.

6:11 p.m. — Report from “B” building at Cliffside Apartments for report of gas odor in the laundry room; Sunderland Fire Department on scene and minor smoke was detected in the laundry room, possibly from a clogged dryer vent; maintenance was notified.

7:45 p.m. — Arrested David Fisher Jr., 44, of Turners Falls Road, Montague, charged with assault and battery, (domestic).

Orange, Jan. 7

2 p.m. — Shelburne Control reports a disturbance on Rosemont Avenue where a person had been spoken to by a representative of Pan Am Railroad for walking on the tracks, and the person took issue with that; the man was located further down the road, and spoken with by an officer.

Greenfield, Jan. 7

4:23 p.m. — Caller from the rotary reports he was entering the rotary Westbound, and was rear-ended by another vehicle; elderly driver was confused and thought he had lightly bumped the other vehicle; he was cited for failure to use care entering an intersection.

5:29 p.m. — Domestic disturbance on Chapman Court where the caller says the ex-boyfriend is banging on the door and yelling expletives,; the male was gone on arrival of police.

11:36 p.m. — General disturbance reported on Pond Street where the caller said a loud noise is coming from a party next door, and they asked them to be quiet but it hasn’t helped; officers found it all quiet on arrival.

Montague, Jan. 7

3:23 p.m. — Fraud reported from Davis Street where the reporting person said she had been contacted 10 to 15 times by a person telling her she won a large sum of money, with instructions to go to a “Dollar General” store, and purchase a money card, and send it to the person calling her.

4:39 p.m. — Arrested Michael Edgar, 49, of Second Street, Turners Falls, on a straight warrant.

5:58 p.m. — Arrested Robert Hatch, 54, of Third Street, Turners Falls, on a warrant.

7:41 p.m. — Caller from Falls Road called to report she was just assaulted by her ex-husband at her home in Sunderland.

8:18 p.m. — Sunderland police called to request a check of a Turners Falls Road residence as there is probable cause for arrest of the man there for assault and battery, (domestic); Montague officer has the person in custody and Sunderland officer is en route.

Orange, Jan. 8

7:40 a.m. — Officer wanted on East Main Street where the caller says a black car is rolling down the hill, with a man slumped over the wheel; driver said he fell asleep; he was issued a citation for negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

11:06 a.m. — Reporting person from East River Street states that sometime over the weekend her prescription Suboxone strips, 25 of them, were stolen from her home.

12:40 p.m. — Shelburne Control reports a car versus a pole accident on Cummings Drive; National Grid responded, and the vehicle was towed, no injury listed on log.

4:01 p.m. — Reporting person from Eddy Street says he was just assaulted; later in the shift he called back and said he would like to press charges and will complete a statement.

4:50 p.m. — Control reports a female pulled over on Holtshire Road and threw up; the reporting person feels this female may be intoxicated; the car just left, headed for Route 2; units responded, but the car was gone; a short while later, Control got a report that this vehicle is stopped at a location in Erving, and someone took the keys from the ignition and is waiting for Erving Police to respond; Orange officer went to assist.

10:12 p.m. — Control got a report of people in the woods off Bartlett Lane; officer responded, and spoke with the reporting person who advised her dog chased them off; area was checked and no one was located.

Sunderland, Jan. 8

10 a.m. — Caller from Amherst Road reports a damaged mailbox.

Montague, Jan. 8

10 a.m. — Reporting person came into the station to report unauthorized debit card use that occurred on Jan. 6.

12:26 p.m. — Reporting person says a large blue Dumpster, that must have fallen from a truck, is in the middle of the road between the bridge and the condos on Federal Street.

4:30 p.m. — Safety hazard reported at the F.L. Roberts gas station and store where some needles were found in the rest room.

4:41 p.m. — Accident reported on Millers Falls Road, with a vehicle into a snow bank or guardrail; the reporting person stated everyone was out of the vehicle, and no injuries reported.

6:14 p.m. — Officer requests assistance stating a male just took off from him in area of Second Street; officers later spoke to a woman who allowed them to check her apartment, and she said the male that left was known; officer found the male is under 14; officers cleared.

Greenfield, Jan. 8

10:01 a.m. — Officer to investigate on larcenies that have taken place at various schools, but no details listed on the logs.

12:16 p.m. — Accident at Federal and Pleasant streets, but no injuries reported; two vehicles involved; information exchanged.

3:56 p.m. — Caller from Mackin Avenue states someone has been attempting to make purchase with her AT&T account.

11:28 p.m. — General disturbance reported on Lampblack Road where the caller says a female is screaming in the woods behind her house, going on for about 30 minutes; officers sent and thoroughly searched woods for sign of people; found fresh coyote tracks, probably hunting, but no signs of people, and nothing suspicious found.

11:35 p.m. — Accident reported on Barton Road where a vehicle went off the roadway, but no injuries reported.

Greenfield, Jan. 9

11:49 a.m. — Disturbance reported on Oak Courts where the caller says her son let a female stay over last night, and she is now attempting to leave with some of her son’s property; officers located the female with some stolen property in her possession; arrested was Christi Lynn Newton, 37, of Union Street, Greenfield, on a warrant and charge of larceny under $250.

11:50 a.m. — Minor accident in the parking lot at 99 Restaurant on Colrain Road where one vehicle backed into a second vehicle; no injuries reported, minor damage, information was exchanged.

12:21 p.m. — Caller from Elm Street reports he was jumped by three males; the reporting person will seek his own complaint.

12:46 p.m. — Caller reports she struck a vehicle that is parked on Union Street; minor damage observed, and the female left a note on the other vehicles which had since left the area.

1:39 p.m. — Report of carbon monoxide alarm sounding on High Street; two fire units sent; services rendered.

3:14 p.m. — Reporting person from Four Corners School says two missing 8-year-old girls walked outside to wait for their mother, who was picking them up; when the mother arrived, they weren’t outside, officer and teacher located the two girls on East Cleveland Street next to Subway; they were transported back to the school, and reunited with their mother; they said they were walking home, because they didn’t see their mom when they exited the school.

4:15 p.m. — Accident with injuries reported at Colrain Road and College Drive, a pickup and car; LifeFlight has been started, wreckers on scene and vehicles towed; LifeFlight at the helipad, and then off the ground; under investigation; report filed.

4:17 p.m. — Report of an accident at School and Pleasant streets, two vehicles; officers found that a commercial truck ran a stop sign at School Street, and struck a sedan.

7:58 p.m. — Traffic stop on Conway Street led to arrest of James Orlando Sanchez, 22, of Hayes Avenue, Greenfield, charged with operating with suspended license, and possession of Class B drug.
