Greenfield, Dec. 29

9:52 p.m. — Officers on Oak Courts arrested Emma A. Therrien, 22, of Forbes Court, Greenfield, on two warrants.

9:57 p.m. — Suspicious activity on Grove Street where the reporting person says a gray Dodge Charger with Connecticut plates just pulled into his car port and parked; he says he doesn’t know who the vehicle belongs to or where the owner went; investigation led to arrest of Nicholas A. Morris, 26, of Lower Road, Deerfield, charged with possession of class B drug, and intimidating a witness.

Montague, Dec. 29

1:11 p.m. — Officer received a call from owner of as-yet unopened Avenue A business reporting that overnight someone defecated in the planter outside her business. Officer requests extra patrols in the area.

6:19 p.m. — Parties into the lobby to report a 14-year-old male out of control, stating he was upset at a Christmas gift issue, then took a bat and began breaking things in the house. Reporting parties are afraid to go back to the house. Officers spoke to all involved parties, things were mediated and the issues seem to be over.

Orange, Dec. 29

2:40 p.m. — Control reports a caller from Chase Street would like to report her son’s ATV was stolen.

Greenfield, Dec. 30

4:39 a.m. — Caller from CVS reports that about 20 minutes ago a male left the store with a carriage full of items he didn’t pay for; under investigation.

5:49 a.m. — Officers on High Street arrested John Robert Hayes, 19, of Colrain Road, Greenfield, on the warrant.

8:39 a.m. — Illegal dumping reported on Wells Street where a Sanyo TV was left on the tree belt sometime overnight; DPW was notified for removal.

10:50 a.m. — Caller from Colorado Avenue reports people duck hunting in a boat in the river, behind her house; she was given the phone number for the Environmental Police.

11:27 a.m. — Larceny reported on Main Street where a detail officer reports four pills stolen from an unattended purse.

12:23 p.m. — Personal care attendant called from Davis Street location to report an assault, when she was attacked by her client; officer to investigate.

12:59 p.m. — Report of a breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, on Meadow Lane.

2:18 p.m. — Report of a breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, on Meadow Lane (different location than earlier report) where the caller says someone entered her vehicle overnight, but nothing was taken.

2:37 p.m. — Minor accident reported on Main Street; two vehicles involved. Officer assisted with information exchange.

3:52 p.m. — Breaking and entering into a motor vehicle reported from Plain Road where the caller says he found his vehicle open and the glove box gone through this morning about 7:30; the faceplate to the stereo and a GPS is missing.

4:48 p.m. — Larceny reported from Conway Street location where the caller says an ATM card went missing from her desk, and that her account is now overdrawn and deactivated; she says a male had been staying with her during the time frame in question.

5:21 p.m. — Domestic disturbance on Conway Street where the caller says his girlfriend is drunk and attacked him with a knife, and cut his hand; he has taken it from her, and is outside on the porch waiting for officers; investigation led to arrest of Alice P. MacConnell, 49, of Conway Street, Greenfield, charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

8:34 p.m. — Traffic stop on Elm Street led to arrest of Nicholas A. Morris, 26, of Wisdom Way, Greenfield, charged with possession of a class E drug, and possession of class B drug.

Montague, Dec. 30

8:48 a.m. — A caller from New Hampshire purchased a miniature pig from a female after responding to a Craig’s List posting and the reporting person says there was a two-weeks warrantee written into their sales agreement; the pig was supposed to be a female, but the reporting person just discovered the pig is in fact a male; the reporting person has been trying to get in contact with the seller, but the seller won’t return her calls; the sale took place in New Hampshire, but the seller lives here in the Lake Pleasant area; the caller was referred to her local police department.

12:43 p.m. — Officers on Avenue A arrested Scott I. Klein, 61, of Second Street, Turners Falls, on a warrant.

4:57 p.m. — Officer requested on Keith Street where the caller would like help with her son who will not listen to her; she stated nothing physical has occurred; officer advised and discussed the situation with them and the problem has been calmed.

6:20 p.m. — Domestic disturbance reported on Unity Street at the top of the hill; police giving the people involved a ride to their apartment, and the male with getting some belongings and leaving for the night.

Orange, Dec. 30

1:22 a.m. — Stop at Water and South Main streets led to arrest of Jonathan K. Rich, 25, of Main Street, New Salem, charged with the stop sign violation, and operating under the influence of liquor, and for possessing/having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

2:02 p.m. — Larceny reported at an East Main Street location; walk-in person says he had two paintings stolen from his store front.

3:15 p.m. — Caller from Bacon Street reports the past larceny of a prescription drug; under investigation.

6:41 p.m. — Caller from Mechanic Street reports her 8-foot tall inflatable Santa was stabbed sometime today.

Orange, Dec. 31

5:04 p.m. — Caller from Cheney Street reports her boyfriend just had an argument with the upstairs neighbor; officer investigating.

11:22 p.m. — Accident reported on East Main Street, but no injuries reported.

Greenfield, Dec. 31

12:03 a.m. — Box alarm at the Franklin County House of Correction, where it was found that a sprinkler head was activated by an inmate; command reports the box is on manual until maintenance can get it corrected.

Orange, Jan. 1

3:21 a.m. — Traffic stop on East Main Street for speeding led to arrest of Tracy A. Fisher, 34, of Brookside Road, Orange, charged with operating under the influence of liquor, speeding, and for possessing/having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

11:35 a.m. — Caller reported that while on a walk on West Main Street a person on the second floor of a building there shouted obscenities at him; officer located the person involved, and warned him to cease the harassment.

6:36 p.m. — Officer’s investigation led to arrest of Brian Jones, 29, of Eagleville Road, Orange, charged with assault and battery on a person 60 or over or disabled, (domestic).

Greenfield, Jan. 1

10:03 a.m. — Officers on High Street arrested Daniel Richard Turner, 44, of High Street, Greenfield on a warrant.

10:22 p.m. — Despondent person reported at Clinical and Support Options on High Street where one client was reported fighting with another client.

Montague, Jan. 1

3:55 p.m. — Larceny reported on Third Street where the caller says that between 11 and noon today, she discovered $100 is missing from her apartment.

Greenfield, Jan. 2

6:18 a.m. — Domestic disturbance on Heather Court where the caller says she had an argument with her girlfriend over a small amount of money and she was kicked out of the apartment. She requested an escort back to the location to retrieve the belongings; services rendered.

9:05 a.m. — Accident reported at Silver and Wells streets, but with no injuries listed; two vehicles involved, and both were towed.

Greenfield, Jan. 2

2:09 p.m. — Officers on Wells Street at the Mill House apartments to serve warrants; arrested was Jessica J. Baldwin, 22, of Second Street, Turners Falls, on three warrants.

5:40 p.m. — Reporting person says he is a ServiceNet coordinator and is reporting a client as missing from his residence on Armory Street apartments; client was entered into national alert system.

Montague, Jan. 2

10:54 a.m. — Caller from West Main Street with first of multiple calls about a tractor-trailer stuck on the hill on West Main Street; officer sent and assisted with getting the truck moving again.

Orange, Jan. 2

3:10 a.m. — Officer came across two juveniles walking on East River Street; they were advised of the town curfew and they were transported back to their residences; and the officer spoke with both of the individual’s parents and found they didn’t have permission to be out.

9:12 p.m. — Domestic violence report led to arrest of Jack Lee Bergert, 51, of Prentiss Street, Orange, charged with assault and battery, (domestic).

Montague, Jan. 3

12:03 p.m. — Report of an accident on Turners Falls Road at Hatchery Road. Services rendered.

Greenfield, Jan. 3

12:15 a.m. — Caller from area of Hope and Cheapside streets states that a car had plowed over a stop sign and has left the area.

12:37 a.m. — Disabled vehicle at Mohawk Trail and Solon Street and was deemed to be a hazard when it could not be started.

1:41 a.m. — Disturbance reported at the former Lunt Silversmith on Norwood Street, where the caller says she can see a few guys and girls running around the deck, and hears four or five voices; officers found snow balls were being thrown, and they were listening to music and dancing, celebrating the Moldavian New Year; they were advised of the complaint.

8:03 a.m. — Accident reported at intersection of Montague City Road and Mountain Road where the vehicle went off the roadway due to road conditions, and the front end of the vehicle was stuck in a snow bank.

Orange, Dec. 3

1:49 a.m. — Caller from Dexter Street would like to speak with an officer about his daughter receiving threatening text messages; they were both advised of options.

1:55 a.m. — Neighborhood disturbance on West River Street. Report of loud noises and banging from another apartment there; officer spoke with the tenant involved, who had some friends over and they were lifting weights; they said they would quiet it down.

Greenfield, Jan. 3

1:10 p.m. — A Western Avenue caller reported that a neighbor was taunting her children by calling them “stupid” for wearing helmets while riding their bikes.

1:42 p.m. — A walk-in to the station reported that someone stole Social Security money.

2:19 p.m. — Responded to Fairview Street for a report of an unwanted female.

2:54 p.m. — A Shelburne Road caller reported that a neighbor shoveled snow from her yard into the caller’s driveway. The caller said this is an ongoing issue.

3:07 p.m. — Responded to a minor two-car accident on Pray Drive.

4:21 p.m. — Summons issued to Jessica Lee Mattson, of Colrain, charged with driving with a suspended license.

Greenfield, Jan. 4

12:10 a.m. — Report of a dog left out in the cold and barking for more than an hour on Cooke Street.

1:15 a.m. — Assisted a driver whose car was stuck in the snow at Main and Miles streets.

9:08 a.m. — Report of an accident on Loomis Road, where a Precision Driving School vehicle reportedly rear-ended another car. An employee, and the driver, came to the station immediately to fill out a report. No citation was issued, due to the weather.

9:13 a.m. — Summons issued to Charles E. Crisp, of North Adams, on charge of threatening to commit a crime on Beacon Street.

10:36 a.m. — A walk-in to the station reported the theft of “virtual currency.”

10:52 a.m. — Responded to a minor two-car accident in the area of Main and Conway streets.

1:12 p.m. — Responded to a three-car accident, without injury, on Loomis Road, due to icy roads.

4:28 p.m. ­— Fire alarm box activation, Greenfield Transfer Station. Domestic water line broken, flowing water. Key-holder on scene, water shut off to building.

6:38 p.m. — Report from Heather Court of someone riding a snowmobile in the area. Nothing found.

Montague, Jan. 4

9:36 p.m. — Karri L. Bailey, 28, of 97 Second St. arrested on two default warrants.

Montague, Jan. 5

12:25 p.m. — Accident with property damage on Lake Pleasant Road at Millers Falls Road. Verbal warning.

1:57 p.m. — Walk-in reports restraining order violation. Two summoned to court.

3:45 p.m. —Report of a shoplifting incident at Rite Aid, 240 Avenue A.

6:15 p.m. —Report of a domestic disturbance at Third Street address.

Greenfield, Jan. 5

8:32 a.m. — Hit-and-run accident reported on Wildwood Avenue, officer investigating.

8:48 a.m. — Accident reported on Turners Falls Road; one vehicle slid off the road due to icy conditions, slid into a guardrail, and then went across the road where it came to rest in the snow on the west side of the road; the vehicle sustained minor damage to the front end corner, and was pulled out of the snow by a tow truck.

8:53 a.m. — Fire in apartment building on East River Street in Orange; Greenfield Fire Department responding with pumper and aerial tower unit; reserves called it to cover the station.

9:57 a.m. — Breaking and entering into a motor vehicle reported on Wells Street; officer investigating found that a GPS was stolen from the unlocked vehicle, and was taken from the glove box; a Tom Tom, valued at $100, black in color; no known suspects.

10:30 a.m. — Domestic disturbance at the Quality Inn on the Mohawk Trail which was reported by housekeeping; a male who wasn’t allowed on the property by management, fled through a back window slider, and jumped down into the parking lot upon our announcing our presence; report filed.

1:10 p.m. — Report of a 2005 Toyota Camry being repossessed on Leyden Road.

1:36 p.m. — Accident on Smead Hill Road, one vehicle; Shelburne accident covered by Colrain Police, on mutual aid. Vehicle towed, no injuries reported.

1:57 p.m. — Report of shoplifting, at Rite Aid on Main Street; officer investigating.

6:29 p.m. — Larceny reported at the Quality Inn on the Mohawk Trail where the caller says a young male told him the ice machine was broken, so he stepped out of the office and locked the door to check it, and when he came back there were fresh muddy footprints on the counter, and the cash drawer was empty, cleaned out; investigating officer requests a K-9 track, and K-9 and officer were on scene shortly after.

6:46 p.m. — Accident on Wisdom Way where the caller says his granddaughter called to say she slid on the ice and got into an accident; officer investigated the one-vehicle accident involving a Jeep Cherokee, which had to be towed.

7:35 p.m. — Accident on Hastings Street reported by the caller who says someone struck one of her vehicles that were parked on the street; the other vehicle is still there; officer investigating, and found one vehicle struck an unoccupied parked vehicle due to icy conditions, but the operator (of the occupied vehicle) was issued a criminal citation for operating with suspended license.

Greenfield, Jan. 6

5:52 a.m. — Accident reported on the Route 2 by-pass; two vehicles involved, but no injuries reported; both vehicles towed, and sanders notified about road conditions.

6:58 a.m. — Accident reported on Interstate 91; state police were notified.

7:57 a.m. — Accident at Colrain and Plain roads; one vehicle off the road and officer found no operator or keys with the vehicle, but a passing motorist believes the owner lives on Arnold Lane; officer located the female operator of the SUV and confirmed there was no injuries, and they are calling their own AAA tow truck.

8:22 a.m. — Officers arrested Merilyn Haskins, 56, of Elm Street Greenfield, on a warrant.
