Platters singer to perform in Bernardston

BERNARDSTON — The Platters were one of the most successful vocal groups of the early rock era. In the 1980s, Jerome Riley won a lead vocalist position with Herb Reed and the Platters. Now, he keeps the music of the Platters alive by performing music from the 1930s and ’40s for retirement communities and other venues.

Today he will perform from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. at the Bernardston Senior Center at 20 Church St., with parking from Library Street.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Those planning to stay for lunch should call 648-5319 to sign up.
