Buckland board sets public hearings on moratoriums

BUCKLAND — The Planning Board will hold two public hearings on Tuesday to discuss extending the town’s moratoriums on wind turbines and large ground-mounted solar installations.

The hearings start at 7 p.m. in Town Hall.

The public hearing on the wind turbine moratorium had been scheduled for April 9, but was canceled so that both hearings could be held the same night.

The reason for the moratorium requests is to give the Planning Board and Renewable Energy Advisory Committee more time to develop siting bylaws for these alternative energy systems.
