Potential selectman race in Conway
CONWAY — The former town treasurer has taken out nomination papers to challenge incumbent Selectman Jim Moore for a three-year seat in the annual election on May 16.
Elizabeth Braccia served as the town treasurer and collector in Conway for six years. She now works as an accountant in Greenfield. If she files papers, this would be her second time running. Last year, she ran against Selectman Rick Bean.
The deadline to submit nomination papers to the town clerk’s office is March 28.
Following the annual town caucus, other candidates for town offices were nominated.
Newcomer Heidi S. Flanders was nominated for a three-year Planning Board seat. David I. Chichester also took out nomination papers for the Planning Board spot. Current Planning Board member Kathyrn M. Eugin-Moore is not seeking re-election.
The other 10 incumbents up for reelection were also renominated.
Natalie H. Whitcomb was renominated for a three-year term as assessor. Carl W. Nelke was renominated to a three-year term on the Board of Health while a one-year term on the Board of Health remains open.
Elaine F. Campbell was renominated to the Conway School Committee for a three-year term while Cynthia J. Ouimette was picked to run for the three-year term Frontier Regional School Committee seat. Virginia A. Knowlton was renominated to run for town clerk for a three-year term. Collin J. Burt was renominated for a one-year term as tree warden. Brian Blakeslee, Ronald Hawkes and James Recore were nominated again for the three-year terms for the three constables positions. J. Nicholas Filler was renominated as a one-year term as town moderator.
