Fire damages building

WARWICK — Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a two-alarm blaze at 51 Wheeler Road Sunday night.

A one-and-a-half story building was significantly damaged but no one was hurt, according to firefighters.

The building’s owner, Gregory Brodski, said the former residence was unoccupied and was being used as a shed. Brodski called in the fire shortly before 10 p.m. He said he did not know what caused the blaze but suspected it may have been old wiring.

At 10:54 p.m., firefighters had entered the house and were fighting the remains of the fire, which appeared to be have damaged the upper area and rear of the building.

Among the fire departments responding were Winchester, N.H., Gill, Athol, Petersham, Royalston, Northfield, Erving, Warwick and Orange.
