Win Kringle Candle gift cards at pumpkin-carving contest Sunday
BERNARDSTON — Kringle Candle Co. is giving away $1,000 in gift cards for the winners of its first-ever pumpkin-carving contest Sunday.
“I grew up carving jack-o’-lanterns and I still do it every year with my younger sisters as a family tradition,” said Kringle owner Michael Kittredge III. “We thought it would be fun to have a public event here at Kringle where people can be creative, enjoy a good time and have a chance to win a nice prize, too.”
There will be two categories, one for those 12 and younger, the other for those 13 and up. The first prize for each category will be a $250 gift card to Kringle Candle or the Farm Table Restaurant. Two runners-up in each category will receive gift cards of $150 and $100.
To enter, bring your pre-carved jack-o’-lantern to Kringle’s 220 South St. headquarters between 5 and 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Late entries will not be accepted.
Entries must be carved from a single pumpkin, and contain no foreign objects, like wire, toothpicks, glue, paint or other decorations. Each must have a hole at least four inches in diameter, so Kringle staff can insert a candle.
At 5:45 p.m., staff will begin lighting the candles, and judging will start. Winners will be announced at 6 p.m.
