Absentee ballots
for Nov. 6 available

MONTAGUE — Absentee ballots are now available at the Town Clerk’s Office for the Nov. 6 State Election. The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is noon Nov. 5. To vote absentee you must be out of town on the day of the election, have a religious belief that prohibits you from being at the polls or have a physical disability the prevents you from going to the polls. All absentee ballots must be returned to the town clerk’s office by the close of the polls on Nov. 6. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The town clerk’s office is located at the Town Hall, One Avenue A, Turners Falls. For more information call 863-3200, ext 203.

Town Hall hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Historical talk set

MONTAGUE — The annual meeting of the Montague Historical Society is scheduled for Wednesday with guest speaker Laura Rodley.

The Buckland author will speak on the topic of documenting family history, with the annual meeting to following her presentation.

The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Montague Public Safety Complex, 180 Turnpike Road, Turners Falls. Refreshments provided.
