Montague Libraries Notebook

Holiday Hours: The Millers Falls and Carnegie Libraries will close at 5 p.m. on New Years Eve. The Carnegie and Montague Center Libraries will not be open New Year’s Day.

Millers Falls Library Club: Will be held on New Year’s Eve day. The Millers Falls Library Club is a free after school program that meets on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The drop-in sessions are designed for children of all ages. Ruth O’Mara runs the activities, which include stories, arts and crafts, and snacks.

Story Time: Will not be held on New Year’s Day. It will resume on Jan. 8. Children and their families are invited to come and enjoy stories, crafts, music, activities and snacks with Ruth O’Mara on Wednesday mornings at 10:15 a.m. at the Carnegie Library in Turners Falls. The weekly free series is designed for young children. This is a great time to meet new people, listen to stories, chat and spend a Wednesday morning.

Music and Movement: This fun series for young children with Tom Carroll and Laurie Davidson moves to the Turners Falls’ Carnegie Library on Thursday, Jan. 2. It will be held on the second floor of the Carnegie Library on Thursday mornings at 10 a.m. during January and February.

Turners Falls Genealogy Gathering: This informal group will resume meeting on Thursday, Jan. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Carnegie Library, for an informal discussion of family research. For more information, check out http://genealogygathering.blogspot.com
