Kiwanis Club of Bernardston: Kiwanis Club of Bernardston meets Tuesdays, Vets Club, Hartwell Street. Social time, 6 p.m.; dinner meeting 6:30. Open to the public.

Cushman Library: Thematic story hour at the library, 28 Church St., Wednesdays, 4 to 5 p.m., Children’s Room. Each gathering includes stories, craft and a snack. Children of all ages are welcome. Parents, grandparents and guardians are encouraged to participate with their families.

Call for Artists: Bernardston Kiwanis is seeking artists, crafters and food purveyors for its two-day Scarecrow in the Park event, Oct. 25 and 26. Organizers are seeking artists in a wide variety of mediums. Booth fee for the two-day weekend is $40 per 10-foot-by-10-foot space and $65 for a 10-foot-by-20-foot space. It is expected that artists will commit to the whole weekend. A very limited number of single-day applications will be accepted at the full weekend price. Alcoholics Anonymous: Alcoholics Anonymous holds a fragrance-free open meeting, Tuesdays at noon, Colrain Community Church, Route 112.

Boy/Cub Scouts: Boy Scouts of Colrain Troop 121 meet Wednesdays, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Colrain Community Church, Main Road. Boys, who are 11 years old or have completed fifth grade, are invited to join. Cub Scouts of Colrain, which includes grades 1 to 5, meet Wednesdays, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the church. Boys from surrounding towns are welcome to join either. The RECOVER Project: The RECOVER Project, 68 Federal St., is open daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Mondays, 3 to 4 p.m., a Tobacco Awareness Group. This free eight-week series allows participants to explore their relationship to tobacco. Overlook Seeks Volunteers: Overlook Hospice Services in Greenfield seeks volunteers for its Hospice team. A Hospice volunteer provides practical assistance and compassionate support to patients and their families, facing a life limiting illness. There are many volunteer opportunities to choose from.
