Healthy Kids Day: On Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Y will be offering many activities to promote healthy kids. From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., “healthy snacks and cooking” demonstration will be held for parents and children. From noon to 2 p.m., there will be gym games, climbing wall and a dance party for ages 5 to 12. Healthy Kids Day is a free event for all boys and girls.
May to June Classes: Registration for May to June classes began April 14 for Y facility members and April 21 for all others. Classes run from the week of April 28 to June 21. Classes for youth include swimming, gymnastics, soccer (ages 4 to 12), cross-country (ages 6 to 12), Karate, Taekwondo and all summer camps. Classes for adults include water fitness/therapy, strength training, weight loss programs, scuba diving and more.
Camp Sign-up Day: On Saturday the Y will be holding a community camp sign-up day. Parents will be able to save 10 percent on whatever dollar amount they pay on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a great time for parents to plan their summer and save money. 125 Minutes of Tumbling passes: On Saturday, the Y’s gymnastics staff will be hosting 125 minutes of tumbling passes from noon to 2:05 p.m. Gymnasts of all ages are invited to cartwheel, forward roll, back hand spring, etc. across the gymnastic floor mat. This free event is part of the Y’s celebration of 125 years in Franklin County.
Afternoon Camp Recess: Camp Recess is an afternoon camp (noon to 4 p.m.) where kids age 5 to 14 can benefit from the many activities only the Y can offer, including choice time in the Gymnastics Center, Kid Fit Center workouts, games in the Gym or Adams Room, arts and crafts and daily swimming. Camp dates: Week 1 (June 23 to 27), Week 2 (June 30 to July 3), Week 3 (July 7 to 11), Week 4 (July 14 to 18), Week 5 (July 21 to 25), Week 6 (July 28 to Aug. 1), Week 7 (Aug. 4 to 8), Week 8 (Aug. 11 to 15). Fees: 1 week session ( noon to 4 p.m.) is $80 for members, $90 for program associates and $100 for nonmembers. Combine a week with Half Day Sports Camp (9 a.m. to noon): $155 for members, $165 for program associates and $175 for nonmembers. Late care is available for an extra fee of $25 per week.
