Park cleanups: The Energy Park will be having spring cleanups on April 13, 1 to 4 p.m., and May 10, 9 a.m. to noon. The Hillside Park cleanup is scheduled for May 10, 9 a.m. to noon. Green River Swimming Area is scheduled for May 18, 9 a.m. to noon. Bring a friend, a rake, and work gloves. Help the department get our parks ready for a busy summer season.
April Vacation Week: Sign up today for April Vacation Week, April 22 to 25, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Youth Center. It is sure to be a fun-filled week of activities, games, crafts and outdoor fun. Morning snack provided each day. Lunch, afternoon snack and beverage must be sent with child. Cost: $100 residents, $125 nonresidents. Registration deadline was April 1. There is a late fee.
Tee Ball: Registration is now open. Tee Ball is for ages 5 to 7 (must be 5 at the start of the program). Players will learn fundamental skills and good sportsmanship through confidence building drills and activities along with scrimmages. Played on Saturdays, May 3 to June 7, 8:30 to 10 a.m., Lunt Fields. Cost: $30 residents, $35 nonresidents. Volunteer coaches needed.
First Aid classes: The department is now offering American Heart Association CPR and AED and First Aid Certification classes. CPR and AED will be held on May 6 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and First Aid will be held on May 8, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Classes are $50 each for residents, $55 nonresidents. Save $10 if you sign up for both. Ages 16 and up.
