Sewage rate bump vote set for tonight
GILL — The Gill Selectboard, acting as the sewer commissioners, will discuss and vote on an increase to the rate charged to the users of the Riverside sewer system at tonight’s meeting.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the Town Hall. The proposed rate increase is from $0.135 per cubic foot to $0.15 per cubic foot.
The action is being taken to keep pace with a recent increase in the rate that Montague charges to Gill for treatment and disposal of sewage, according to Town Administrative Assistant Ray Purington, and to provide funds to continue work on an infiltration and inflow study of the system, including a to-be-scheduled smoke test of the system.
