Spots still open for the Northfield Kiwanis golf tournament on Saturday

NORTHFIELD — There are still a few spots left for the annual Kiwanis Club Golf Tournament.

“At the moment, we have room for three teams of four,” with 15 teams already signed up, organizer Brian Wood said Wednesday afternoon.

The tournament will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Northfield Golf Club.

Registration costs $75 per player, or $300 per team.

“Every dollar we make goes back into the community,” said Wood. “Our biggest concern is making sure we bank enough money for our annual scholarships.”

While there’s no cash prize, teams can compete for bragging rights, as well as four-packs of tickets to several area golf courses, including Greenfield Country Club, Crumpin-Fox Golf Club, Ellinwood Country Club, Brattleboro Country Club, Shattuck Golf Club, Stratton Country Club and the Mount Snow Golf Club.

There will also be raffles, including merchandise from Kringle Candle Co., and a chain saw from D&M Small Engine Repair.

If you would like to sign up for the tournament, call Wood at 413-498-5537.
