Moore wins 2nd term on Conway Selectboard
CONWAY — Incumbent Jim Moore will keep his seat on the Selectboard after defeating challenger Elizabeth Braccia in a close race.
Moore got 172 of the votes over Braccia’s 125 votes.
In all, 300 of 1,487 registered voters, or 20 percent, turned out to cast ballots in the annual election.
In his second term, Moore has previously said he will continue to listen to the townspeople’s concerns and be conservative with town finances.
Braccia was the former Conway treasurer and now works as town accountant in Greenfield.
In the race for the three-year Planning Board seat, David Chichester defeated Heidi Flanders with 200 votes. Flanders got 87 votes.
The remaining open spots were uncontested.
Natalie H. Whitcomb was reelected for a three-year term as assessor. Carl W. Nelke was reelected to a three-year term on the Board of Health.
Elaine F. Campbell won another three-year term on the Conway School Committee while Cynthia J. Ouimette was elected to the three-year Frontier Regional School Committee seat. Virginia A. Knowlton was re-elected to town clerk for a three-year term. Collin J. Burt won the one-year term as tree warden. Brian Blakeslee, Ronald Hawkes and James Recore were chosen again for the three-year terms for the three constables positions. J. Nicholas Filler will serve a one-year term as town moderator.
