One arrested, one sought in stabbing
GREENFIELD — Police have arrested one suspect following a search for an area homeless man and woman after one of them allegedly stabbed their overnight host.
Officers were called to a Wells Street home at 4:25 a.m. Saturday for a domestic disturbance that escalated into a stabbing.
The victim told police that he had let his two homeless friends stay the night, but later told them to leave, sparking an argument.
When the two men began to fight, the homeless woman stabbed their host twice, before the two fled.
The man received two small puncture wounds, said Detective Kevin Rowell, and he declined treatment by ambulance personnel.
Rowell said the victim was uncooperative. The wounds appeared to have been caused by something other than a knife, said Rowell, though he was unsure exactly what kind of implement was used.
Police subsequently arrested Samantha Voudren, 23, homeless of Greenfield, and charged her with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, an unknown object, Rowell said.
Sgt. Kelson Ting said the other suspect has not been arrested and will likely be summonsed.
