Election papers now available in Northfield

NORTHFIELD — Nomination papers are available for several positions to be elected at the May 7 annual town election.

The following three-year positions are up for election:

One Selectboard seat, held by Kathleen Wright; one seat on the Board of Assessors, held by Robert MacEwan; three constables; one constable from Northfield Farms; two Board of Health seats, held by Flora Sadri and Thomas Walker; two Board of Library Trustees seats, held by Margot Fleck and Deb Potee; two seats on the Recreation Commission, held by Suzanne Handren and Jeremy Underwood; one sewer commissioner’s seat, held by Thomas Walker; and two seats on the Board of Veterans’ Memorials, one for a veteran and one for a nonveteran.

A five-year seat on the Planning Board, held by James Holloway, is also up for election.

Residents may also seek nomination at the nonpartisan town caucus, held at 7 p.m. March 12, in the Town Hall.

Nomination papers must be submitted by 5 p.m. March 19. For questions, contact the town clerk, at 413 498-2901. The deadline to register to vote in the annual town election is April 16, on which the town clerk’s office will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
