School bus hit in Orange, none hurt

ORANGE — No one was hurt after a driver lost control on the slick roads Monday afternoon and struck a school bus.

The accident occurred at 2:22 p.m. and there were 14 high school and middle school students on the bus, but neither students nor either driver were hurt, according to Brenda Anderson, Orange Police Department administrative assistant.

Anderson said the bus was stopped at West Main and Shelter streets when a 2004 Subaru sedan traveling east slid in the snow and hit the front corner of the bus. No citations were issued.

Officer Clay Rushford said the car was towed. Rushford said the bus was not, but the Fire Department made arrangements for a second bus to take the students home.
