Greenfield nomination papers available

GREENFIELD — Nomination papers for the town’s annual preliminary town election, which will be held April 16, are available at the town clerk’s office in Town Hall. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All candidates must obtain signatures of registered voters of Greenfield to become a candidate for the town election, which is scheduled for June 11.

Councilor-at-large and School Committee candidates must acquire 100 signatures, with not more than 25 from any one precinct. Precinct councilor candidates must acquire 50 signatures from their precinct.

Nomination papers must be returned to the Board of Registrars no later than February 26.

Anyone interested in running for town office should contact the town clerk’s office at 413-772-1555, ext. 112.

∎ trustee of A.K. Warner Trust Fund — three years (currently held by Peter Wood)

∎ trustee of Jennie L. Bascom Education Fund — three years (currently held by Larry Jubb)

∎ elector under will of Oliver Smith — one year (currently held by Timothy J. Strahan)
