Injured motorcyclist in Montague accident taken to Springfield
MONTAGUE — A motorcyclist from South Deerfield was seriously injured Saturday afternoon after crashing at the intersection of Lake Pleasant Road and Route 63.
According to Sgt. Christopher Bonnett of the Montague Police Department, the accident occurred around 4:20 p.m. while the cyclist was traveling in a pack with four other motorcyclists.
“They came up to the intersection and looked back, and he was toppled over,” said Bonnett.
Bonnett said the victim, who police did not identify, was transported by LifeFlight helicopter to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, where he is being treated for a head injury.
Bonnett said there was no evidence that alcohol or negligent driving was involved in the crash.
