WHATELY — The fate of the Frontier Regional School tennis courts is in the hands of Conway.
Townspeople in Sunderland, Deerfield and Whately approved their shares of the repair costs without hesitation in three successive town meetings.
The money is contingent on approval in all four feeder towns. Conway is set to vote on its $4,455 share on May 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Conway Grammar School.
Deerfield approved $15,345. Whately approved $4,748 and Sunderland approved $8,451. Each town’s assessment is based on enrollment.
The repairs would address cracks along the courts and give it another three to five years of use. If the courts aren’t repaired, Superintendent Martha Barrett said, the school would have to close them this fall.
