CNN show “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown” filming in Franklin County
If you think you saw a TV crew or a famous chef wandering around the county you’re probably right.
A show starring Anthony Bourdain is filming in the county this week.
Bourdain is a chef and television personality who brought his acerbic style to the food-centric travel show “No Reservations” on the Travel Channel following the publishing of his best-selling 2000 memoir “Kitchen Confidential.”
The memoir details his experiences in the kitchen from his days as a Provincetown dishwasher to success as a chef in New York.
Bourdain’s latest show, “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown” began airing in 2013, the first episode spotlighting Myanmar — the former Burma. The third season premiere, a tour of Punjab, India, aired Sunday on CNN.
“Parts Unknown” this month won a Peabody Award, for what the broadcasting awards organization called the show’s “unique recipe for blending culinary and cultural reporting.”
A producer could not be reached by phone and did not return a message for comment. The Shelburne Board of Selectmen authorized filming recently. The topic does not seem to have come up publicly elsewhere, but filming does not appear to be limited to Shelburne.
