Letter: Lyford wants to serve
As firefighters, we take an oath to serve and protect the citizens of Greenfield. John Lyford did just that for 26 years. We know what it takes it serve our citizens. John is a retired firefighter and wants to continue that oath by serving you as your next Precinct 5 councilor.
John Lyford has extensive knowledge in municipal government and our city’s charter. Health insurance is one of the most expensive budget items our city faces. John served as our representative to the city’s Insurance Advisory Committee for several years; he understands this very extensive topic and its ins-and-outs. Retirement is also an important issue our city faces, John was a member of the Greenfield retirement board for many years as well.
John has experience in dealing with Precinct 5 issues. As an East Greenfield neighborhood committee member since 2005, he has worked to improve the quality of life for residents and business. As a retired firefighter he knows Precinct 5 well and the challenges that precinct holds and the needs of his future constituents.
His platform is to keep stability regarding the town finances while making sure the town employees have the tools they need to succeed. He believes in protecting our rural heritage and to safeguard our recreational areas. John also wants to be part of implementing our master plan and considers it our visionary blueprint for the future.
One of most rewarding aspects of our job is to go home knowing that you made a difference. Let John make a difference for you and continue serving Greenfield, on our Town Council.
Please get out and vote April 15.
