NORTHFIELD — Northfield voters will see a race for Selectboard at the May 6 annual town election.

Incumbent Dan Gray will be challenged by former Administrative Assistant Tracy Rogers.

Gray, a local farmer and owner of A-1 Enterprises septic service, is finishing out his first three-year term on the board. He has been a Board of Health member since 2007, and previously served as a sewer commissioner for several terms.

Rogers, now employed by the Franklin Regional Council of Governments, served as the town’s administrative assistant from December of 2009 to October 2010, and was Gill’s administrative assistant from 2007 to 2009.

The two could face more challengers; nomination papers are not due until March 18.

The caucus produced no other races.

Incumbents nominated by the caucus for three-year seats are: Michelle Milton for Board of Assessors, Dan Gray for Board of Health, Lloyd Parrill and Jon McGowan for Board of Library Trustees, Paul Prest for Board of Sewer Commissioners and Barbara Brassor for tax collector.

Planning Board Chairman Richard Fitzgerald was nominated for another five-year term. Dennis Brennan III was nominated for a three-year position as a veteran on the Board of Trustees of Veterans Memorials.

There remains no nominee for a three-year position as a non-veteran on the Board of Trustees of Veterans Memorials.

Nomination papers available

Nomination papers are still available from the town clerk. They must be returned by 5 p.m. March 18, with the full names, addresses, and signatures of 25 registered Northfield voters.
