Kelsea M. Gunn – James D. Downes
Kelsea Megan Marion Gunn and James David Downes were united in marriage on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at the United Methodist Church in Friendship, Maine.
The Rev. Robert Dorr performed the double-ring ceremony.
Given in marriage by both her parents, Kelsea is the daughter of David and Lisa Gunn of Waldoboro, Maine, and the granddaughter of David and Phyllis Gunn of Greenfield and the late Warren and Marion Genthner of Waldoboro.
James is the son of Steven and Janet Downes of Palermo, Maine.
The bride’s aunt, Judy Gunn Rose, read the “Scottish Wedding Prayer” during the service.
The reception followed at the Rockland Elks, where a dinner buffet was served. The Elks was adorned with nautical and seashell accents of decorations. The four-tier cake followed the same theme, which was served by Melinda Genthner and Cynthia Vannah, aunts of the bride.
Kelsea is a 2008 graduate of Medomak Valley High School, Waldoboro, and James is a 2009 graduate of Coco Beach High School, Coco Beach, Fla.
Kelsea and James reside on Dover Air Force Base in Dover, Del., where James is an Airman 1st Class with aerospace ground equipment and Kelsea is continuing her education taking CNA courses.
