Mary Esther Stiles Streeter and Earle Henry Streeter Jr. of 124 Stage Road in Cummington. MA, married on August 15, 1953 in the Federated Church in Charlemont, Massachusetts. Officiating was the pastor of the church, Rev. Charles Wakefield. They have been residents of Cummington the entire 60 years.
They will celebrate their 60th anniversary with a party given by their children on August 31.
Attendants for the bride were Beverly Daignault of Charlemont, Joanne Churchill Sylvester of Williamstown and the groom’s sister, Wilma Sears Hatch of Cummington. The groom’s attendants were his brother William Streeter and brother-in-law Edward Morehouse and Robert Sears, all of Cummington, at the time.
Mary Esther graduated from Charlemont High School in 1951 and Berkshire Business College in 1952. Using her secretarial skills in different businesses over the years, she retired from Smith College in 1993.
Earle graduated from Pittsfield High School class of 1945, served a year in the Merchant Marines, completed the tool making course at May Engineering Co. in Pittsfield and then enlisted for 4 years in the U.S. Air Force. Earle retired from Beloit Corporation in Dalton, Massachusetts as Manager Plant Engineering in 1990.
The Streeters are the parents of 4 children, Philip Streeter of Fairbanks, Alaska, Paul Streeter, Sandra Streeter and Nancy Streeter-Howes all of Cummington and grandparents of 3: Kimberly Streeter and Caroline Streeter of Fairbanks, Alaska and Troy Howes of Cummington.
