Denkewicz — 66th
Raymond and Genevieve Denkewicz (former Genevieve Beebe of Brattleboro, Vt.) celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on Jan. 10, 2014 with their children at the YachtSea Grille in Bradenton, Fla.
They were married on Jan. 10, 1948, at St. Michael’s Church in Brattleboro, Vt. They were treated to a getaway to the former Pink Palace, now the newly restored Hampton Inn in Bradenton by their six children: Gloria Carme and partner John Solberg, Cathy Ptak and husband Jim, Karen Burek and husband Peter, Mary Denkewicz and partner Helen Skeels, Raye Marie Young and husband Richard, and their only son, Raymond Denkewicz Jr. and wife Carolanne.
Ray and Genny have 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with two more great-grandchildren expected this year.
Raymond, a WW II veteran, worked at Millers Falls Paper, Strathmore Paper and International Paper Co., retiring after 38 years of service. He was a locksmith for 40-plus years and owned and operated Raymond P. Denkewicz Security Maintenance with Genevieve as his business manager.
Raymond and Genevieve resided in Millers Falls until retiring to Bradenton, Fla.
