Stephen and Nellie Barber
BERNARDSTON — Stephen and Nellie Barber of Bernardston recently celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary with a chauffeured foliage tour of the area followed by a special lunch at The Farm Table at Kringle Candle on South Street.
The Rev. Arthur L. Truesdell married the couple on Nov. 2, 1941 in the former Goodale Memorial Church in Bernardston following the morning services. Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Frank “Bud” Foster.
Mr. Barber is well-known locally for his keyboard concerts and sing-a-longs at parties and nursing homes.
Mrs. Barber was employed for many years in the cafeteria at Pioneer Valley Regional School in Northfield.
The couple have three children: Jeffrey, Patricia and James; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
