Voice of Aububon

Here are this week’s bird sightings from the Voice of Audubon for western Massachusetts.

An Acadian flycatcher continues to be seen down from Gate 22 at the Quabbin Reservoir.

Two young Orchard orioles were found in the East Meadows of Northampton.

A lesser yellowlegs was in Northfield and two greater yellowlegs and a lesser yellowlegs were in Sheffield at Bartholomew’s Cobble

A yellow-billed cuckoo was in Chesterfield.

Other notable nesting birds reported were wood duck, common merganser, green heron, great blue heron, spotted sandpiper, black-billed cuckoo, belted kingfisher, and yellow-bellied sapsucker. Also seen nesting were willow flycatcher, eastern kingbird, yellow-throated vireo, raven, blue-gray gnatcatcher, brown thrasher and indigo bunting.
